Hello everyone!

We thought a lot about how we should inaugurate our blog and we decided to start with a quite classical but equally important subject: “What is informatics?”

Informatics is the science of automatic processing in which the systematic processing of information is done especially with the help of electronic gadgets. ‘Informatics’ is generally used to describe the results of the combination of Technology & Mathematics and knowledge. In fact, we define informatics as the gateway to the new world.

‘Information’ and ‘data’ are concepts that are of great importance today. Many situations such as the storage, processing, transfer and security of information have become equally important. Information also supports the self-development process of humanity by being bequeathed to future generations. Today, it is thanks to ‘information’ to identify the virus of a disease or to be able to go anywhere in the world without losing our way with navigation applications. As seen, informatics actually exists in every part of our lives with the processing of information, when we look from this perspective. Especially thanks to the internet network, information can be transferred from one end of the world to the other. In this way, humanity has experienced throughout history that its life has become easier.

The ‘computer’, which is the most important part of informatics, has already entered all areas of our lives. Age no longer matters for computer usage. When computer programs get involved, the computer has become indispensable.

In spite of all this, there is something sad that the words of Herman Kahl about information, informatics and computers still remain valid: “The computer revolution is the most vocal revolution in the world’s history, and the funny thing is that we still underestimate its effects.”

Hope you continue on your way by not ignoring the effects of this vocal revolution, but by accepting its existence in all areas of your life…
